Flashback Friday – Ways to Use Script

Thursday’s Ways to Use It challenge on SCS was all about using script. “You can use an old book page, music sheets, stamped script, or your own hand writing on your card.” Well, I wasn’t able to make a new card, so I thought I would browse my galleries and look for some ways I’ve used it in the past. Here are a few of my faves.

Weekend Challenges

Saturday’s Inspiration Challenge: Horchow
I went straight to the holiday section 🙂 It had 4 collections. I love elegant, vintage classic, etc. I love Christmas! This year I’m in the mood for making bright cards. And Horchow has a bright collection!!! So, this is what caught my attention: multicolored ball garland.

Then I had two choices: Did I want to use Fluffles surrounded by Christmas bulbs? Or did I want to use Fluffles caught up in Christmas lights. The strand of Christmas lights won because I had other stamps to go with it that I thought looked better in a card design. I hope you like the finished product 🙂

Sunday’s Featured Stamper: Linda aka Stickups!

* I used the same layout but used less layers.
* I used different colors and snowman images.
* I used ribbon instead of twine with a button and tags.
* I moved the sentiment.
* Instead of using windows for the snowmen, I popped them up.

Here’s Linda’s beautiful card.
And my card…

Made in 2009 when part of the DRS design team.

Today’s challenge is to use dimensionals / pop-up dots on your clean & simple cards.

I used just a portion of the sentiment on the card front. It continues on the inside: “A day of fun, unless you’re a turkey… Then you’re on the run! Have a wonderful day!”

The curved cut of the dp was done by hand. The turkeys’ hats are popped up on dimensionals only once.

All stamps from DRS Designs: High Tailin’ Turkey (F297), Turkey on the Run Greeting (G318)
Paper: white, unknown patterned paper
Ink: black, Copic markers (R59 cardinal, Y38 honey, E35 chamois, E33 sand, E31 brick beige, YG95 pale olive, B97 night blue)
Accessories & Tools: SU large oval, circle, & designer label punches, dimensionals, Scor-Pal
