Clean & Simple Monday Challenge

This is week 10 of our All-Star Holiday Season with design team alumni!

CAS 251 – Bling it up! CAS style with glitter, gems, pearls or liquid pearls, etc.

Image

I chose cardstock that came with the glitter already on it! I love when it’s that simple 🙂 Christmas has already started here in my home. Busy, busy, busy… so clean & simple is just right!

Stamps: Gina K Designs
Paper: SU poppy parade, green glitter – unknown
Ink: Memento black, Copic markers, SU black marker
Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities
Techniques: I used a SU marker to ink up just the “Christmas” portion of the sentiment. The inside says… is a fire that warms your heart.

Flashback Friday – Ways to Use Script

Thursday’s Ways to Use It challenge on SCS was all about using script. “You can use an old book page, music sheets, stamped script, or your own hand writing on your card.” Well, I wasn’t able to make a new card, so I thought I would browse my galleries and look for some ways I’ve used it in the past. Here are a few of my faves.

A double challenge card made in August 2011.

CAS131 – It’s CAS to some and not to others. Regardless, I wanted to show one example of a partial image where I purposely didn’t completely stamp the script background.

SCS Featured Stamper: pawallen142

* Same colors and layout (But I used more kraft instead of white and red.)
* Different script, flower images, and embossing folder
* Instead of taffeta ribbon, I used organdy ribbon.
* Instead of of a border punch, I used a Nestabilities die cut.

Rubbernecker Stamps: Wildflowers (496_01), French Script BG (448)
Paper: GP white, SU kraft
Ink: SU crumb cake, real red & wild wasabi
Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities scallop rectangle die, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF
Accessories: white organdy ribbon

And I made this one 2 months ago.

IC409 Challenge – Barnes & Noble – Loved it!

For this one, I started with one inspiration and then thought about another one and so I used both.

Stamps: DRS Designs, GKD, Gina K Designs, SU

Paper: white, black, SU dsp

Ink: Memento black, copic markers

Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 18

SCS Featured Stamper Cards

Featured Stamper: Julie Dinn, better know as stampinjewelsd!

Image

* I used the same colors and layout but left off a layer and used the white base card. I even have the same ribbon!
* I used a single stocking image and different sentiment.
* I did faux stitching.

Here’s Julie’s beautiful card.

Stamps: Gina K Designs
Paper: Stampin’ Up dsp
Ink: Memento black, Copic markers, SU old olive marker
Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities, square punch (to make the banners)
Accessories: SU black gingham ribbon

Image

* I used different colors, less layers and added bling and ribbon.
* I stamped the ornaments instead of used die cuts.
* I used a circle instead of an oval for the main image and moved the sentiment.
* Instead of using three panels, I used a zig-zag border punch (because I noticed quite a few recent cards using a zig-zag pattern.) I had to use a Martha Stewart border punch to make the zig-zag design.

Here’s Julie’s beautiful card.
